Graduation Edition

Today, my younger brother graduated high school. He is the youngest of the entire family and I couldn't be more proud of him!

Connor, you have grown into an amazing young man full of wisdom {the amount of knowledge you retain still amazes me....I obviously missed the memo on this gene}, patience, musical talent, kindness and humor.  You already know you inspire me with your ability to always look for the positive and keep your head held high, even in the midst of your battle with Crohn's disease. During these upcoming years remember to cherish every moment. My college years were the best of my life and I know you will have a similar experience. They will fly by! Always surround yourself with positive people, remember the reason why you are there and take every opportunity given to you. I know you will be just fine as you continue your journey to be a doctor in chronic illnesses. I know this because you have such a passion for helping others and a drive to achieve. No one said the road is easy, but they do say it will be worth it. It is so strange thinking the baby of the family is no longer a baby, but a young man with a bright future.

Love you baby boy and so proud of you!!! =D

Thoughts on time & Sponsor Feature: Meet Anna

I had a moment yesterday while talking with my dear Chester on the phone. Poor Chet had to listen to my thought process as I over-analyzed the subject of time out loud {he took it like a champ!}. I'm sorry to all you also, you have read {or not} through my now written thought process on the same subject.

Do you ever feel like there are just not enough hours in the day? This is the story of my life as of the recent. Every minute counts...seriously! If I wasted a minute every day for a year {which I do} that's over 6 hrs a year that is just...gone! I've never really thought of it like that. For what ever reason I did think about that and it hit me to really make every minute count. I run around all day between two jobs, by the time I get home I just want to crash. Instead of 'veggin' out when I come home I need to make it a priority to really get things done! Cleaning, working out, studying, quality dinners, work, bloggin. I need to stop saying 'tomorrow,' 'this weekend,' 'later' and start saying, 'just do it right now!' Completely random and most likely insignificant thoughts for you to read about...but how many times do you really sit down and think about what a minute in your day can truly mean?

I'll probably have more on my thought process of trying to manage time later, but today I am so excited to share one of my May sponsors with you!!!!

Organize: Makeup

Today I wanted to share my makeup organization with you all!!! I felt like a complete genius when I decided to do this because it made getting ready in the more so much easier! I have a 'makeup caddy'. It's actually a spice turn about that I ordered from Pampered Chef when I hosted my pampered chef party about a month ago.  Yes... this is really meant to hold your kitchen spices!! I have re-purposed this beautiful kitchenware product to make my mornings a little easier. This is what I love about it...

|| there are several individual compartments that makeup conveniently fits perfectly into

|| the compartments have a clear wall, allowing shorter makeup bottles to be visible

|| it turns....easy easy easy to search for what you are looking for

|| the perfect size for storage under the sink

and.....

|| it has this amazing handle that extends for easy to lift and move to the proper storage

There you have it! Nothing fancy, but one of the best ideas I've come up with thus far regarding every day organization! And if you host a party....it most likely won't be $19.50, you'll most likely be able to 'purchase' it as your free product { yes! I got this for free }! Getting ready in the morning is no longer a struggle of digging for brushes, mascara, blush, foundation. It's all conveniently placed for me to see and easy to access.

I hope you enjoyed! how do you organize your makeup??
 thank you for reading!

over the weekend

Over the weekend I moved....because of photo number 1. I had a silver fish problem. This started last October, disappeared for a while and then came back strong beginning in February. That was how many I saw in a 1 hr period. They were on the floors, the walls, in my closet....I've now washed every item of clothing I own. I put them all in a baggy along with 10 more and kindly hand delivered it to my management the next day. Fortunately there was an apartment opening in the same building just down a floor and over a few units so I decided to make a run for it! I think since moving in I have at least killed 100 of those things. Since moving I have seen ZERO - this is amazing!

The weekend most consisted of moving and no make-up. My amazing mother came in town at the last minute to help me with bug bombs and cleaning {she is amazing..her coming in town had me so overfilled with joy I could've cried in relief}! My beautiful boys are so cute when they nap together. My furbaby finds the most interesting places to nap and I think I have this whole 'cat lady' thing down. He's a total lap cat and I am loving all the cuddles.

Moving and sneak peek

It has been chaos over here! A bunch of silver fish took over my apt last fall and refused to leave... So I left. Fortunately the complex had one opening in the same building, making an easier move. But washing my entire wardrobe, throwing out all my dry foods and lots of bug bomb was a little exhausting. The goal is to never see another silver fish again!

I'm absolutely excited because I have tons of organizational posts coming up now that I'm getting settled in to the new place.. A sneak peek of my make up organization.... Once I get my Internet hooked up I'll be posting more! Until then... Happy Monday!!!

grilled veggies

I'm totally okay with admitting I was that odd child {still am} who craved vegetables. My college roommates would poke fun because I would most likely be found eating green beans late at night rather than salty snacks. But I just love vegetables! They are so tasty and comforting. I recently purchased a grill pan and have been feasting on grilled vegetables just about every night. In this particular photo I have:

- yellow squash, chopped
- carrots
- green beans
- zucchini , chopped
-  green onion, chopped
- garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- dash of pepper

In a large bowl mix squash, carrots, green beans, zucchini, green onion and garlic. add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and a dash of pepper, mix. meanwhile, put your grill pan on medium heat with olive oil. once heated add your veggie mix and grill until soft and browned. then enjoy! super easy and very tasty!!

P.S. I've noticed I've picked up a few new faces over the past couple days.  Thank you for your kind words and sharing them with me, now I get to go check out all your blogs and be amazed!!! =D
